AMM AND COALITION CO-SPONSOR PHYSICIAN AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
In November 2008, the AMM joined forces with the Coalition for Healthcare Communication to alert physicians and other healthcare professionals to government and institutional activities that could restrict CME funding, limit CME content, and hamper other valuable industry-sponsored communications.
The majority of our AMM member publications will be participating in this campaign. Participation includes running a public service ad developed by the Coalition for Healthcare Communication for a period of 6 to 8 months in print and on the Web. The AMM will be working with Charlie Hunt and MARS Medical to track the impact of this campaign. MARS Medical will conduct pre- and post-campaign awareness studies over a 12-month period in 2009. The results of this study, which will capture key print and online metrics, will be made available for distribution once the study has been completed.
The ad directs physicians and other healthcare providers to an educational page on the Coalition site where all of the issues are explained and resources are provided for further information and action.
